Please ensure that you always have the latest version of CloneDVD mobile installed. To see your installed version, open CloneDVD mobile and click the "About" button at the lower left corner.
There you see your registration information and the version number.

Our products are updated frequently and new versions are published on our download website:

Compare the version information there and see "How to update" on the download page for instructions as needed.

The Filmstrip

The User Interface is very easy to navigate and you will notice that CloneDVD mobile does not have any menus. It is arranged in the form of a "filmstrip" that takes you through all required operations step by step, until the copying process begins. All the settings you need to consider are in the filmstrip! You cannot overlook anything! The program is so designed that if the minimum required user input for a particular frame is not complete, you cannot go on to the next frame. The “Next” button remains inactive until you satisfy the minimum conditions to proceed.

Here you can learn the general steps to produce a portable movie file with CloneDVD mobile. In this example, we show you how to create a DivX file as shown also in the CloneDVD mobile tutorial on our homepage.

HINT: Use the right mouse button! Apart from the context sensitive help, some additional functions can only be selected via the right mouse button. The symbol on the left will call your attention to right mouse button context menus in this manual.

Start

Please make sure that you have everything needed for processing your DVD: You now see the initial start screen of CloneDVD mobile. It is the first screen of the filmstrip.

First you are asked to select the output format you want for your particular device. Highlight the output format required by your mobile device. Note there are other informational items on the initial start frame. NOTE: The following shows you how to convert a DVD movie into a DivX movie file with CloneDVD mobile. The DivX output file can be played on any DVD player or device that supports DivX playback and is especially useful if you need to convert PAL DVDs to NTSC or the other way around.

Click "Next" when you are ready to proceed to the next frame in the filmstrip.

HINT: Please visit our website periodically to check for new versions of CloneDVD mobile. To do so, click the Slysoft "Fox" logo above the "About" button and select "Download".

Title Configuration

Put the original retail DVD in your DVD-reader or DVD-writer if not already inserted. Now select the drive letter where the DVD is located. You can access the explorer for browsing to the DVD drive with a click onto the small button with the orange arrows at the upper right. Select the Video_TS folder on the source DVD. The DVD movie data loads.

NOTE: You will see an error message if your DVD is CSS-encoded and CloneDVD mobile cannot load it. Always run AnyDVD in the background while working with CloneDVD mobile.

On the left hand side you see two tabs. You can either see "Information" about the selected title or a "Preview" of that title.

NOTE:
Selecting the "Preview" tab lets you view the selected title. The default is "Title 1" but you can select any title to preview it.
Select any title and then click the “Play“ button (green triangle) directly under the preview panel. You can change the playback speed (1x-8x) by clicking with the right mouse button inside the preview panel. The movie preview allows you to easily identify each title available for backup if you want something other than "main movie only", which is the default. Please note that there is no sound output during this preview.

Now click "Next".

Audio Settings

Most movies offer several audio streams. In this window, the available audio streams are shown. Select the language you prefer for your output movie.

On this screen the available audio streams are shown. Select the preferred language here.
A click on "Next" will take you to the next step.

Output Method

On the left-hand side, you find a summary of your selected title and properties. On the right-hand side you can alter the output file settings.

On the right side of this frame you can fine-tune the settings (if you want to) and further define the ouput file and the label name or allow the defaults.
HINT: Create a seperate folder on your harddisk (like on the Desktop) for storing the converted files. This will save you a lot of time.
If you use a portable DVD player that supports DivX, you can burn two high-quality movie files onto one normal single-layer DVD blank using a burning program for that purpose.

A click on "Go!" takes you to the last frame of the filmstrip.

Transcoding the movie

On the left hand side you see three tabs. You can see incremental "Snapshots", a final "Summary" of the settings or the "Log" panel.

The tab functions are: On the right hand side you can watch the progress of the transcoding procedure and a graphically presented bit-rate statistic. It informs you in realtime about the properties of the video input and output data. The area of the video bit-rate statistic ranges from 0-10 MBit/s.

Finishing

After the transcoding completes, CloneDVD mobile notifies you with a "Success" sound with the creation of the output media file.

HINT: When you click "Cancel" before the transcoding process completes, the incomplete ouput file will remain in the output folder you specified. You will have to manually delete that incomplete file afterwards. Of course you can over-write it if you repeat the project.

Well, that's it for starters. Now you can:
